At NexGen, AI isn't a feature — it's the foundation of everything we build and deliver. Our AI & Data team designs and operates the systems that turn enterprise data into intelligence, and intelligence into action.

We work with state-of-the-art models, large-scale data pipelines, and complex production AI systems — in service of some of the world's most demanding enterprise clients.

If you want to do serious AI work with real-world impact, this is the right team.

About the role

Our AI & Data team is responsible for the models, pipelines, and architectures that power NexGen's AI products and client solutions. We do not build demos or proof-of-concepts that never ship; we build systems that are deployed, monitored, and trusted in production.

In this role, you will work on technically challenging problems at the frontier of enterprise AI. You will move between research and engineering, translating what is theoretically possible into what is practically valuable for demanding enterprise clients. You will also help shape the way organisations use AI responsibly, ensuring that performance, reliability, and accountability are designed in from the start.

This is a role for someone who wants their work to matter, who enjoys depth, and who is as rigorous about failure modes as they are about model accuracy.

What you'll do

  • Design and implement AI models, pipelines, and data systems for real enterprise use cases, from concept to production deployment
  • Evaluate and deploy state-of-the-art AI and ML techniques, including large language models, retrieval systems, and predictive models, in production environments
  • Collaborate with engineering, product, and advisory teams on solution design, making sure technical choices align with business goals and operational constraints
  • Ensure AI systems are reliable, explainable, observable, and responsibly built, with clear governance and monitoring in place
  • Contribute to NexGen's AI practice and thought leadership by writing, speaking, and sharing what we learn from client work
  • Monitor and iterate on production AI systems to maintain performance, reduce drift, and respond to changing business needs

What you'll bring

  • Strong background in machine learning, data science, or AI engineering
  • Experience building and deploying AI systems in production
  • Proficiency in Python and relevant ML/AI frameworks
  • Rigorous approach to model evaluation and responsible AI
  • Curiosity about the latest developments in AI research and practice

What we offer

  • Competitive salary with equity participation
  • Remote-first flexibility
  • Access to cutting-edge AI tooling and compute resources
  • 25 days annual leave plus public holidays
  • Annual learning & development budget
  • Private health insurance
  • Team offsites and conference attendance
